• Each Joy-Con has all the buttons to serve as a full controller. Each incorporates an accelerometer and a gyroscope, allowing independent motion sensor functionality for both Joy-Con.
• The left Joy-Con has a screenshot button, allowing players to instantly capture in-game screenshots to share with friends on social media.
• The right Joy-Con includes an NFC area for interaction with amiibo, as well as an infrared camera with motion detection that can detect the distance, shape, and movement of nearby objects in games designed to use this feature. For example, it can detect how far a player's hand is or what shape it takes.
• Both Joy-Con include advanced HD vibrations that reproduce more realistic vibrations than ever with compatible games. The effect is so detailed that the player can, for example, feel the distinct vibrations of ice cubes clinking in a glass by shaking the Joy-Con. With HD vibrations, you'll experience a level of realism that images and sound alone can't replicate.

A console focused on local and online multiplayer:

• Up to eight consoles can be connected via local wireless play. Starting April 28, you can play wirelessly with up to 8 players in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
• You can stand the console anywhere using the built-in stand and detach the Joy-Con to share the multiplayer experience without needing a TV.
• The console enables Wi-Fi multiplayer gaming.
• The new online subscription service can be tried for free at its launch. This service includes a mobile app, available in summer 2017, allowing you to invite friends to play online, schedule play sessions together, and chat in compatible games. The full paid service will be available in the fall of 2017.
